Small Groups
"True Christian discipline, whereby all the living members of Christ are knit together in one.”
— John Wesley’s description of a small group

Join a Small Group in 2013!

At the start of a new year many of us look for ways to improve our lives and make changes for the better.   We focus on our health, finances, or kicking bad habits.  This new year why not add another goal and focus on your spiritual life and join a small group?

Changing and growing in our relationship with God is not always easy.  But Jesus never promised us that it would be. His message was just the opposite.  In John 16:33 Jesus tells us In this world you will have trouble.  I appreciate His candor.

But there is another promise Jesus makes to us in John 16:33.  He tells us that in Him we can have peace, despite our troubles, and to take heart because He has overcome the world!  This is such an awesome promise Jesus makes to each of us but I know how easy it is to lose sight of it on my own.

Friendships I have developed in small groups help me remember the perspective our faith offers. This Christian community of friends from small groups has become invaluable to me.  Not only did Jesus give us himself through the Holy Spirit but he gave us each other.

The Christian life is not a path one walks alone.  Small groups are one way Christians walk the path of faith together, in the valleys and on the mountaintops.

A variety of new small groups are forming in January. No matter where you are on your walk, I hope being part of a small group becomes invaluable to your walk with God.   If you are invited to join a small group this year or you search one out on your own, I pray you will find a community of believers to celebrate life’s joys and to lean on during troublesome times too.
