What we believe about worship.
People want to and need to worship God passionately. It's what we were created to do.
True worship happens in Spirit and in Truth. It is in and through the Living Scriptures and the living Spirit that we connect with the Living God.
Congregational Worship begins in the heart - we're seeking a genuine connection with God.
Significant worship experiences are critical to people's spiritual progress.
Quality worship motivates people to passionately love God and others more fully in their every day lives and helps people to see who they were created to be.
Spiritual vitality in worship teams creates passionate and authentic worship leading which creates a congregation of passionate worshippers.
Everything in the worship services needs to draw people toward God.
What you can experience in worship at New Hanover UMC.
We want anyone who attends a worship service to experience worship that is Christ-centered, biblically focused, and that is passionate and done well in order to motivate people towards a Christ-filled life.
Music has such a powerful way to touch people's hearts and draw them closer to God. We use a full array of instrumentation and voices to create a sound and experience that draws people into God's presence. The Bible speaks of God dwelling in the praises of his people. As we worship God together, we experience his presence.
Our messages are designed to help people connect with God in real life without a lot of "religious" talk. We believe God's Word is powerful and relevant for our daily lives.
